Find Caffeine Free Soda in Questions
Is there a caffeine free soda made with sucralose aka splenda? Is there a caffeine-free soda (any kind?) that is made with splenda (sucralose)? There is a diet coke made with splenda and pepsi one made with splenda, but neither are caffeine free. I know there are diet sodas without caffeine made with aspartame, but I have a bad reaction to aspartame, so I avoid it.

Wren )O( replied: "Diet Rite"

Hal R replied: "Sure, one of the first diet sodas on the market,Diet Riet Cola, is very good ice cold, it is the only soda I drink. Also a great mixer, crown and coke is now a crown done rite.Hope this helps."

Christopher K replied: "Diet 7-UP is now made with Splenda, (sucralose) and they've even taken out the preservatives........There is also a "natural" soda, trademarked "Hansen's" that uses fructose and sucralose........but it's kinda hard to find....unless you're on the West Coast, namely SoCal.......Try the diet 7-UP, though, no colors, artificial flavors and sweetened with sucralose (Splenda).......... Christopher"

jautomatic replied: "here's a list of beverages - many contain no caffeine: Use in Branded Products Sucralose can be found in more than 3,500 food and beverage products. Thomas English Muffins (the Honey Wheat English Muffins) now feature sucralose in the ingredient list despite the fact it is not a dietary product. Coca-Cola and Pepsi released new versions of their colas (Coke C2 and Pepsi EDGE) replacing half of the traditional high-fructose corn syrup with sucralose (C2 also uses aspartame and acesulfame potassium). In 2005, Coca-Cola released a new formulation of Diet Coke sweetened with sucralose, called Diet Coke with Splenda, which also has acesulfame potassium. Coca-Cola also released a new energy drink through the Tab namebrand which uses sucralose and acesulfame potassium; marketed as a "no carbohydrate/low calorie energy drink". Pepsi-Cola has released an updated Pepsi ONE using sucralose instead of aspartame, although both formulations, new and old, also use acesulfame potassium, another intense sweetener. Cadbury-Schweppes released 7UP Plus in the US in August 2004, a drink containing fruit juices and sucralose, and in May 2005, Diet 7 UP switched from aspartame to sucralose. National Beverage Corp. uses sucralose in all of their Diet Shastas. The Dannon Company (the US branch of Danone) has introduced a new range of their flavored yogurts and yogurt drinks, called "Light 'n Fit", and some of those are sweetened with sucralose, some with fruit juices, and some still with aspartame. Jamba Juice, in 2004, released a category of 'smoothies' based on the use of Splenda to lower the amount of sugar used, thus lowering total caloric content as well as "carbs" (calories supplied by carbohydrates/sugars). Universal Robina Corporation, the manufacturer of C2 Cool & Clean Tea, the green tea which unexpectedly took the Philippine beverage market by storm (nudging sodas and iced teas out of popularity), recently released the sugar-free version of their C2 beverages C2 Lite Cool & Clean Tea. In similar flavor variants, but this time, sugar-free and low-calorie, and containing sucralose. Propel is a lightly flavored, non-carbonated beverage with added C, E, and B Vitamins. It is also sweetened with acesulfame potassium and sucralose. Starbucks uses sucralose in their Frappuccino® Light Blended Coffee line. Nestle uses sucralose in their Pure Life® flavoured water line (e.g., Raspberry Splash). SoBe Lean contains Splenda® brand sucralose. AriZona Diet Green Tea with Ginseng contains Splenda® brand sucralose. I also know that Boylans also uses Sucralose"

Is it okay to drink one caffeine free soda? during your 1st trimester of pregancy. I have cut out all the caffeine drink and started drinking more water, milk and juice. But would it be okay to have one caffeine free soda once in a while?

poohb2878 replied: "That's perfectly fine. In fact, I have a cup of coffee every morning and a caffeinated coke in the afternoon. The horror! I'm such a bad mom already! :) Seriously though, there has been no study done that conclusively proves harmful side effects of caffeine on a fetus. As long as you're not drinking 6 cups of coffee a day, you're fine. And if you want to be super super careful (and deprive yourself of everything good!), stay away from juice as well. It has a lot of unwanted sugar and could lead to gestational diabetes..."

annabanana replied: "yeah. its the caffine that hurts the baby so a soda w/o caffine should be fine."

MissingHim replied: "Yes! In fact you can have caffine sometimes!"

trixie replied: "Caffeine free soda is fine."

Tracy replied: "Yes... I hate the fact that people tell you that all caffeine is bad. That's awesome that you cut it out....but don't freak about drinking a caffeine free or even caffeinated soda..... :)"

puppy love replied: "its fine, i have a pop at least once a day, it doesnt make anyone a bad mom. :)"

kisssucks78923 replied: "there is this one energy drink called Cocaine [not the drug]. you should always drink that. it will give you a buzz and the baby a buzz. it is not okay if you drink caffeine free soda. it will injure your baby."

Ms. MMP replied: "sure, just watch your salt and sugar. one, once in a while won't kill you."

basictheory2000 replied: "Actually, when you start to have migrains during the pregnancy, your dr. may tell to to go ahead and try having a soda along with the medication that they prescribe or with tylenol...and the balance of the caffeine along with the tension relief that tylenol gives, will equal themselves out and come back to the state of the pregnany that you are most comfortable in, your own utopia, if you will."

cutie replied: "I don't believe a soda every so often will hurt you or the baby. But I do recall hearing something about not drinking or eating diet stuff while you are pregnant. I believe that the sugar substitute in these products are no good for the baby. Double check on that!"

LadyLuck replied: "In general I would advise staying away from any kind of soda - some studies suggest that artificial sweetners are bad for the fetus too - but anything in moderation will be fine. I had a regular soda once in a while."

*june*_*momma* replied: "yea, it's also okay to have a little caffeine everyday."

confused replied: "no"

Is it bad to drink Diet/Caffeine free soda during pregnancy? I've been drinking it so much lately cause Im diabetic and can't have sweets really, so diet/caffeine soda has been my new choice and it's awesome. I was NEVER a soda drinker before I got pregnant and now I crave dark sodas. Like rootbeer, Dr. Pepper, Coke. Is this bad?

Marks Wifee replied: "I've heard that nutra-sweet isn't good for the baby. My ob said I could have ONE 8oz drink with nutra-sweet per day. So, one diet pepsi a day is ok. good luck! God bless!"

Diamond replied: "No thats not bad to drink"

jamie n replied: "If you are drinking liquids that are sweetened with aspartame or anything other then splenda, it can cause certain birth defects. Splenda seems to be okay, so far. One drink a day with caffeine is okay."

redenbargers replied: "i am almost 36 weeks pregnant and i have craved all the sodas too and i am fine. my doctor said i should try to slow down but he said it has not affected the baby any."

sweet libra replied: "It's ok in moderation. It doesn't have as high a content of sugars as the regular stuff, but it's ok to give in to your cravings. I was all about hot wings and cornbread w/ my 1st pregnancy. (I hated hot wings until I got pregnant!) If you don't satisfy your cravings, then you're going to drive yourself (and husband) nuts! Go for it, but like I said, do it in moderation b/c even tho' it's diet, it's still not very healthy for anyone, pregnant or not."

grace c symiacos replied: "is bad to drink any thing ,but good glass of water"

H57heiny replied: "I little bit each day should not really hurt. I was told to stay away from aspertaime though. But a little caffeine is ok."

Vlado replied: "make sure that you will keep all that away of you and your baby!"

mac_rosbrugh replied: "I drank 2 Pepsi's a day when I was pregnant with my daughter. The doctor said up to 20 oz was fine. Double check with your doctor first, but it should be fine."

dragonfly7887 replied: "I drink caffeine free coke now that I am pregnant, it is not bad so to say, because there isn't any caffeine, but you should watch the sugars. I still wouldn't recommend drinking more than 2 a day because of that reason and they can still dehydrate you like juices because of the sugar. So drink a few and enjoy, but make sure you take in plenty of water 60-80 ounces a day, because that is the best thing for you."

LittleRoo replied: "That's so weird! My biggest craving I've had during pregnancy is Coke!! (But it has to be like a fountain drink coke...in a cup with lots of ice and a straw...if it's from a can or bottle it's not as good!!!) I try not to drink it very much (because of the caffeine) but it is OKAY to have caffeine in moderation during pregnancy. Even my OBGYN says it's ok. You're allowed I think around 300 mg a day or something and one soda is 50 mg. I'm not sure about diet drinks and the sweetners they use. Just don't chug bottles and bottles of the stuff everyday and you should be fine. Also, my doctor said for every soda I drink to drink an equal amount (or more!) of water."

momfor4thtime replied: "I drink about two diet caffeine-free sodas a day and I'm 28 weeks. I did the same with my previous 3 kids, and they turned out fine (unless prenatal exposure to diet soda has been linked to preteen attitude problems, in which case I may have really messed them up!) Seriously, as long as you're not just going through ridiculous amounts of the stuff, I think you're fine. Just make sure you're getting enough water along the way."

Paige R replied: "no. When i was pregnant i drank stuff like diet dr. pepper and diet rootbeer and nothing happened. But maybe just in case as your doctor."

Trouble's Mama replied: "I did the same thing. I had a major craving for Coca Cola in my pregnancies.. something I almost never drank before. It's okay in moderation as others have told you. BUT if I were you, I'd drink regular coke/root beer/dr. pepper over diet. Diet has the artificial sweeteners as others have said that aren't good for the baby. Your body knows how to deal with sugar (assuming you don't have gestation diabetes). I was born in a town that made nutrasweet... they stopped like 20 yrs before I was born and there were still kids in my generation being born with defects."

momoftwoboys replied: "There is a lot of sodium in the soda, that can increase your body's need for water so remember to drink a lot of water too. Aspartame is somewhat suspicious but there is no statistical link to any kind of disorder. Sucralose is relatively new to the market so there is little research. Without going crazy on it, diet soda and especially the caffein-free variety should be an okay indulgence during your pregnancy. If you find that you are having issues with urination (too much or not enough) step up the water."

Jennifer H replied: "I have never heard that it was bad, I know youre not suppose to drink alot of caffeine so Im sure it wont hurt"

zombie2wolf replied: "You shouldn't drink anything with sugar at all but if you need it for your health you should really ask a doctor."

Tink replied: "NOOO any artificial sweeteners are bad for us!!!!! i guess maybe one a day here and there just careful!!"

Is caffeine free soda really caffeine free? I do not react well to even the smallest amount of caffeine. I know decaffeinated coffee is not completely free of caffeine, so i was wondering if there might be a small amount of caffeine in, let's say caffeine free pepsi.

CheeseMan replied: "yes"

Sijibijiji replied: "well in most cases yes, but if you add some caffiene, no."

candy54125 replied: "really and truly caffiene free."

Rain replied: "If it did, Pepsi and Coca-Cola would be being sued daily for false advertisement! It's easy to detect with chemical testing if something have the drug caffeine in it. I'm pretty sure it has no caffeine. What you might be reacting to is the fact that you're body is condition to feel a certain response when a certain type of liquid has entered your body. When it taste the soda or something similar, it is also "thinking" there's going to be caffeine in it. So it's conditioned to still give you a jolt of energy. You might just want to lay off sodas all together for a little while."

I've heard there's some caffeine in decaf coffee. What about caffeine-free soda? I've been noticing lately when I drink diet, caffeine-free soda I get heart palpitations. I have greatly reduced my food intake to lose weight and caffeine doesn't give me a "lift" anymore. Do I have a blood-sugar problem? Is it the aspartame in diet soda that's causing this? My blood pressure is normal (take meds). Does anyone have an idea what's causing this? Thanks!

Lakely replied: "Aspartame and all those chemicals.... really, there are so many unknowns with regard to those things. Best thing to do is to look for natural alternatives that have no chemicals added to them. Just try it for a while and you will answer your own question about the effect that it has on you, since everyone is different."

glndlong replied: "The fake sugars they use in diet sodas and drinks effect me badly too-- they cause me to feel very anxious and I have heart palpitations all the time anyway--but no--I can't tolerate fake sugar of any kind. G"

The Stig replied: "To ensure that the coffee or soda that you are drinking is caffeine free, check the label and call the Consumer Hotline. They can tell you if there is any caffeine in it at all. And yes, you may have a blood sugar problem. But only a doctor can confirm this for sure. Be sure to get regular check-ups. And don't be afraid to talk to your parents about it. Heart palpitations are serious and they can get worse gradually. Tell your doctor and your parents everything, they're there for a reason: to help you. And when you next see your doctor ask them if the medication you take for your blood pressure reacts with anything in coffee or soda and how serious it can be. Good Luck"

can i drink caffeine free soda win im pregnant? I have mad craving for soda and i know not to drink it because the caffein . Is it good to drink caffeine free soda like sprite or caffeine free cola

Baby #1 Coming Soon! replied: "Yes it is. I asked one of the nurses and my doctor. It does not hurt you but of course also drink water, juices.. etc. not just soda."

dogbot    due 7/31 replied: "Yes, caffeine free soda is fine. Try to limit your intake though and brush your teeth afterwards - pregnancy can already wreak havoc on your teeth, so you don't want to be chugging too much sugar on top of that."

achtey replied: "caffine free soda is fine as long as it's not diet. Diet soda has aspertaine in it and is bad for baby."

Kat replied: "Def. I am a major soda junkie and usually have one caffeine free soda a day. But it really is ok to have a caffeinated soda every now and then. You can have up to 200mg of caffeine, though I usually try to stick to 50 or less and only on occasions. 50mg is about a can of regular soda."

jobie023 replied: "I drank Caffeine free Pepsi all through my pregnancy with my son, so yes it is safe. Remember though you have to still drink a lot of water on top of that! Might be good to just drink one every now and then to appease your taste buds."

Chem Queen replied: "Yes, but try not to have any soda with artificial sweeteners (aka diet sodas), also, a little bit of caffeine doesn't hurt the baby - so if you feel like having a regular coke once in a while (not every day) then it's okay. Generally they say 1 cup of coffee is okay - although you should avoid it if you can. And soda with caffeine has less then 1 cup of coffee."

Kat replied: "My doctor told me absolutely no soda while pregnant - whether it's caffeine free or not. You will find that different doctors/people in general will give totally different answers. But my doctor is up-to-date on current medical stories, and they're discovering new reasons that soda is not good for any one of us. For example: There is a preservative/ingredient in soda, if sodium benzoate, that has recently been PROVEN to damage DNA. (Feel free to google it). I wouldn't recommend much, if you do drink any. I didn't drink any until I was about six months along, and then had one every once in a while."

Nikki replied: "Yes. The doctors say as long as it's no more than 150mgs to 300mgs it's fine. You can check this site if you want to know how much of what you can have. It gives caffeine amounts for every type of drink you can think of. "

Milton M replied: "i don't think is a good idea! caffeine free soda has a lot of sugar.. thats bad! some doctors say that consuming to much sugar during pregnancy may be bad for the baby. they can be hyperactive!"

Is it okay to drink Caffeine Free soda with an ulcer? Just curious I've heard it was alright, but I would like to know from others or personal experiences :). Thank you very much. Well the caffeine free soda I have is Sierra Mist so if anyone was wondering that. Sorry for not mentioning that sooner.

Hush replied: "The fizz alone is enough to irritate my stomach. I'd go with a noncarbonated drink."

drwmxwll replied: "I think I'd prefer it with an ice cube."

littleladymoo replied: "probably not, it's the acid in the soda that is bad. It also eats the enamel off your teeth. I love my diet soda too and have a hard time giving it up."

Atypical replied: "It's not the caffeine that agitates your ulcer. It is the carbonation and and acidity of the soda. Stick with low acid and non-carbonated drinks."

Do you allow your Type 1 child to drink sugar free, caffeine free soda freely? Does the limitation on sugar free drink options cause you to pick your battles with the artificial sweetener risks? Or do you stick with Crystal Lite?

MATT replied: "Im a type 1 myself and i would say it is safe for your child to drink it in moderation. Even though there are no sugars or caffeine the concentrates in soda often give diabetics a jittery feeling when drank habitualy. I would reccommend allowing it in moderation but keep the diet versatile so ur child never feels jittery and to insure that he/she is gettin adequate nutrients."

Melanie replied: "i'm 16. type 1. in a study trial for diabetes with the University of Rochester/ Strong hospital. have been an independent needle kid. for a year and a half now. first of all. i don't really drink pop. but when i do. most of the time i drink the regular. on occasion i drink diet. but if you take a shot and everything. then the soda is just as bad for you as it is for anyone else. i think its kinda ridiculous people think you can't eat anything. that would be true if you were out of control and didn't take care of yourself. but if your in control its not bad for you. i'm a very healthy kid with 10 diseases/ disorders. i look normal. act normal. and am fine. i would stick with regular pop. because i also don't like the artificial sweeteners. they're not healthy."

Noccie replied: "I allow my 16 year old son to drink sugar free drinks at his discretion. After his diagnosis, I just try not to get freaked out about artificial sweeteners because without those products his diet would be somewhat bland. The fact is that there's no sound scientific data to show that artificial sweeteners cause any health problems."

Ariana Corrine due 8/11/09 replied: "most of em say caffeine free except for pepsi n coke jus b sure to read the label first. I usually drink root beer, grape or pineapple crush and sprite they all say caffeine free"

CMH1382 replied: "Sugar free coke would be considered diet so you shouldn't be drinking that anyway. Just caffeine free coke tastes just like regular coke to me. Also I heard they now make caffeine free mountain dew too. Make sure you aren't getting diet when you are trying this stuff."

Dawn C replied: "sprite. soda once in a while is not bad. doctors say that you can have one small coffee a day and be fine. I drank soda and coffee sometimes while i was pregnant. my son came out perfectly fine and healthy. as long as its in moderation. i stuck to water most of the time."

ThisIsME replied: "Most orange sodas, 7 up, sprite and some root beers have no caffeine. You can drink drinks with caffeine in them sparingly during pregnancy too. As long as you don't live off the stuff you'll be ok :)"

#1 Sep.9th 04 #2 dew Aug.30th 09 replied: "Its cheap and tastes great! Its called Fresca. You can get it at walmart but the original citrus one is the best!!!!!"

Lost in this world replied: "ROOT BEER!! I know I love soda but while pregnant and breastfeeding, Caffine is horrible!! Be weary!! Coke, pepsi mountain dew, TEA, coffee, you know...they all have caffine. Sprite is caffine free. Root Beer is caffine free. Caffine free Coke (gold can). Is it okay to drink caffeine free soda while pregnant? Or should I not drink so much of that either? Is it bad for the baby? Thanks

37 weeks with baby Alexander! replied: "Soda is alright for the baby. Ive been drinking it though out my pregnancy but try to limit it. You want to be drinking more water then anything else."

stefs05 replied: "I drink it sometimes, but only in moderation. It's better for baby to drink water or juice, but a little decaf coffee or caffeine free soda is fine in addition to that. :) Enjoy!"

rico replied: "i wouldn't personally.. no caffeine does help but in the long run it's still pop. sugar dye.. do you love pop that much?"

Baby Joel is due 12/22/08 replied: "Even soda with caffeine is ok, but in moderation. Just realize that water is much much better. Soda is very chemically, and has a lot of sugar."

Susan86 replied: "I agree with the other respondents. It is not a problem if you drink soda if you do so with moderation. I do not think it is bad for the baby if you don't drink it every day. It's alright once or twice a month if you have such a craving."

eml replied: "I wouldn't recommend more than one can or small bottle a day. I know I have a coke (with caffeine) every once in awhile. It's perfectly fine in moderation. Just be sure you're getting enough water."

Emma due 11/30/08 replied: "Oh gosh I have to have a glass here and there. I actually had cravings for orange soda alot during pregnancy, Fanta is caffeine free.
