About Estradiol And Pregnancy in Questions
Does a high estradiol level early in cycle mean no chance of pregnancy? If there is a high estradiol reading, 86, early in the cycle (day 3) does that necessarily mean there is no chance for a pregnancy, any kind (IUI. IVF, etc.)?

Tiare replied: "sounds like you are being cared for by an infertility specialist, ask them. they know much better than the yahoos on yahoo"

MissBri replied: "no idea but I hope you get the child you're wanting!"

MissM replied: "No, but it may indicate a cyst. I had a really high E2 number (over 100) on my last IVF cycle, and my doctor put me back on birth control for a few weeks before I started to use the stimulating drugs. It worked. My E2 went down to a lower level, and I did the cycle with a shot to keep me from ovualting too soon. I got pregnant from that cycle. My high level was from a reaction to a ovarian suppression drug, Lupron. It usually suppresses my ovaries, but for some reason, this time it stimulated them and made my E2 levels shoot up. After I stopped the Lupron and took the BCPs, the level dropped, so the high levels could be caused by a variety of factors."

Can taking progesterone affect the outcome of a home pregnancy test? ? can taking progesterone affect the outcome of a home pregnancy test? ... My doctor put me on Progesterone inserts and Estradiol pills 1x/day for 14 days after my ovulation. I did a hpt this morning, it came out BFN. Now im 13dpo and 14 days past hcg shot. Need some opinion and info. Thank you.

? replied: "No. Your body naturally produces progesterone and a HPT will not pick up that hormone. It's looking for hCG only. Best of luck to you!!!!"

Can Estradiol and progesterone oil injections interfere with an at home pregnancy test? I thought for fun I'd take a pregnancy test earlier than the scheduled blood test on 1/21/08. I figured with all the hormone meds I was taking it would so positive. Thought it would nice to see a positive at home test for a change! But it came back negative. I had in vitro fertilization done on 1/9/08 and I know it is still probably too early to detect but just wondered if anyone has been through this and had a negative at home (pee) test and then found out later they were pregnant? Thanks for the info...I've been on both meds since the fresh cycle transfer.

bessiedarlin replied: "I did in-vitro in Dec and I was DYING to take a test before my scheduled bloodwork. I restrained though bc they sd that it could give false hope or false negatives! I wish you all the best!!!! Did you use a frozen cycle? (I only ask bc of the Estradiol) I did a fresh cycle last time and now a frozen cycle and I start my Lupron in the morning and the Estradiol tablets around the 29th (depending my on blood work and U/S results). Good Luck!! : )"

Face T replied: "Neither estradiol nor progesterone hormone would impact the pregnancy test. The pregnancy test measures the pregnancy hormone HcG. This hormone starts to get produced once conception happens, and is only detectable once implantation happens. However, what is possible is that during IVF procedure, you likely received a hcG trigger shot (to cause LH spike and ovulation to happen - for egg retrieval). If you had done a pregnancy test right after that, it would have likely come out false positive for a few days. That is why they ask you not to test right away. After the IVF procedure, you should be on the progesterone as that helps sustain the pregnancy (assume conception and implantation happens). It was obviously much too early to test (4 days after IVF) - implantation can take anywhere from 5-10 days (max) after conception, so best to just wait for the scheduled blood test on the 21st. Good luck."

Where can I get real information about midlife pregnancy? I need to be able to show the reality, not the "many more women are having babies in the 40's and if they can do it so can you hype". I want to find information about the real risks and dangers - anything to get my husband to understand why this is not something I want to do. I am 45 with a 25 year history of clinical depression. I still ovulate regularly but I was told 5 years ago that my eggs are getting old (whatever that means). That was just based on an FSH and estradiol blood test. Thanks.

bailie28 replied: "lol i know i hate hearing your eggs are old too... but the thing is you are born with all the eggs you will ever have so they are old if you are 45...no idea how sperm that is made every day is any better when the man is 45..and starting to have midlife problems as well..lol....anyway look in your community and see if there are fertility clinics the best source of info on pregnancy can be found there..."

estradiol level is low.? I have done a estradiol level test on CD 3 and level is very low. I am ttc. my ovulation occurs late in cycle like about CD 19 . Will low level of estradiol effect getting pregnant? I was given clomid too this month and docs said it will be enough to regulate your cycle. Do you think it will help in getting pregnant Any links regarding estradiol and pregnancy???? Thanks and good luck

Yolonda T replied: "I dont have any links, but I am sure someone will provide you with some. Estradiol is what help grow the egg in the first half of the cycle and it along with progesterone is what prepare your uterine lining for implantation in the second half. Good Luck"

Face T replied: "The Day 3 test is really for testing FSH or follicle stimulating hormone (and to lesser extent, estradiol). Low estradiol / estrogen levels is actually a good thing / normal on day 3. Elevated FSH levels on the other hand could be indicative of an issue. See link below. As background, FSH is needed for follicles to develop/mature which in return produce estrogen hormone. Estrogen rises during ovulation causing another hormone (LH) to spike and the egg to be released from the mature follicles. Then the progesterone hormone rises which is critical in implantation of fertilized egg and sustaining the pregnancy. If not pregnant, the progeterone hormone drops causing uterine lining to shed resulting in menstrual cycle. Ovulating late in the cycle (at CD19) is not usually a problem, as long as you ARE ovulating - and that is the hard part to figure out (ovulating or not, and if so, when). Good luck"

when is the possible time that i can jump into pregnancy? actually, I am taking my micropil (norethisterone ethinyl estradiol) pills right now. This is my first time to take pills as what my OB-GYNE requested me. So I just want to know if when is the possible time I can get pregnant?.. Please help me. Thanks!

girl replied: "I would help but not sure what those pills are for. But if they are to help u get pregnant. I'd wait a week for it to get into your system first. Good Luck."

so stressed replied: "usally a doctor will tell count 14 days after your last period. but u could always buy a ovulation kit and it will tell u the days"

Is it posible to get pregnant w/ this pills even if taken regularly-Norethisterone Ethinyl Estradiol Micropil? pregnancy

26 Weeks Pregnant! replied: "Yes, no form of birth control is 100% effective."

n1nja007 replied: "it depends on how long you have been taking it for and if you take it according to the directions on the package...... but some women have gotten pregnant while taking the pill. if you have only been on the pill for a few days or even a few weeks, it may not work properly like it should it take a bit for it to work fully."

Estrace and prometrium during pregnancy? Any users of prometrium suppositories and oral estradiol (estrace) ? How long have you stay on it while pregnant? I'm almost 4 weeks pregnant and my RE wants me to continue taking them. Anyone here with the same experience as mine?

Samurai replied: "Good luck with the prometrium. Progesterone ruined my life."

How long should i take this pills before I become safe-- Norethisterone Ethinyl Estradiol Micropil? pregnancy

cycophuk23 replied: "You will never be safe. There is no 100% guaranteed method of birth control save abstinence. Not what you want to hear, but it's just the truth. But, if you want an exact time, it will become safe when you are an adult, have a job and can afford a kid so I don't have to pay for you being on wellfare or any other government sponsored insurance or assistance."

Raven replied: "Most birth control pills on the package insert say you have to take them for 7 days before being protected, but you should probably see the insert for the specific pill you are using. My doctor always said a full month though."
