should i modify a honda fit as a tuner car? just as ma first real car aka project

toddlj2k6 replied: "no"

terje_treff replied: "Yes"

Biker T replied: "Yes if you are realistic about your goals. It is not a fast car. It is not a light car (not compaired to early 90's late 80's honda civic hatch backs atleast. did you know your fit is larger and heavier in every direction than the EG civics?) It can be made to handle, and handle well though. As a fun little car to cruise windy roads I can not think of many cars that would be more fun. go and throw it through some corners, and when you are dont have a fairly roomy, cofortable car that gets decent milage and is still reliable as a stone axe to go to and from work/school. Just dont go to wild with the engine and you should be fairly happy as long as you dont expect to much from it in a straight line."

YO MAMA!!! replied: "Sure its ur car, dont let other ppl and there ricer comments put u down, cuz there either jealous that ur car will las longer or there jus stupid"

man_with_koolaid_smile replied: "no leave it alone"

JULIE V replied: "no. you should not modify ANY honda as a tuner car. Honda can be done tastfully and run and look nice. however 90% of the crap out there is RICE. Dont be a Ricer! Hondas dont last long when they are abused either. most Ricers drive like retards. they blow engines and smash into things. so just enjoy the drive and you will be fine and your car will last. and no one will make fun of you for being a RICER."

jldude replied: "I would never modify a brand new car if it's my only car. Buy a 1998 model or something to mess around with. There's a lot of great 98 hondas ever with all the stupid kids doing stupid mods to em to get attention."

I'm buying a Honda Fit 2008 with 28,000 miles. Will the warranty be void if the wheels are modified? It has custom wheels, DVD player and couple of things there. I am wondering if the original manufacturer warranty would be void?

galaxiexl replied: "Before I goofed the wheels around I would have waited for the Warranty to run it's course.Over sized rims(too tall/too wide)are a suspension nightmare.Alignments go right out the window.Handling in rain a problem. If you didn't cut the wiring harness on the Radio install you should be good to go."

don r replied: "Te car is OK without silly wheels. Keep it stock and you'll be happy. Do you even have the car yetbefore you want to start changing stuff?"

Honda Servant replied: "If you alter the vehicle and what you altered is the cause of something to fail it may not be covered under the warranty. ie: change the radio and it makes the digital display go wacky and it's because you changed the radio This goes for any modifications."

what size wheels will fit my honda accord? I have a 1987 honda accord and I want bigger wheels and tires without having to modify anything...so what is the max I can go? I want to go up from the stock 13's.

peaches replied: "depends on what u have"

kingofdrifters replied: "From 13 all the way to 18's which is the biggest. I wouldn't suggest 18's becasue they are too big for honda's and will scrape your fenders when you make a turn. I would go with 16's or 17's. Good Luck"

IbelieveIbinderealreadyNdonedat replied: "ask your honda dealership-parts department"

Modifying Honda Keys? I want to modify my key so that it looks like honda's new keys. in other words, i want to pretty much have it be my key except cut to fit in to my Honda prelude 1995 ignition

♣[JDM_HERO]™ ♣ replied: "new keys? 96-00? 01+ 08+?? i think those ones had transponder keys some models. what would be nice to do is see if a acura switch blade key will fit. it might not fit due to depth and key size, but if it does you will have a nice custom key. if you really want it to work real bad.... buy the ignition and the key from a newer civic and install it in yours..... "

Will a 95 Honda Civic DX Harness fit into a 92 Honda Civic CX? Will a 95 Honda Civic DX Harness fit into a 92 Honda Civic CX? I have a 92 Honda Civic CX, and getting ready to put a B16 into it. I do not have the orginal engine harness for the CX, and finding a CX Harness is murder. What other Harness will fit a CX. And yes, I know it will have to be modified for VTEC.

husla_69 replied: "Yes - any 92-95 civic and obd1 integra harness will work same with any obd1 del sol"

curiousteen replied: "if you are gonna go b16 which is vtec you should not even bothering getting a dx harness because you will need a 92-95 ex/si which has the vtec harness so you could wire up vtec"

what Size of engine could fit in a 97 honda civic LX? right now there is a 4 cylinder, could i fit a 6 cyclinder without having to modify alot of things? If I did put a 6 cyl. what type of modifications would i have to do?

the bad seed replied: "i would go with a blown big block chevy"

julien replied: "You could use the CRV's engine or THE SR20 yeah !!"

imadude1134 replied: "I would think that the Prelude/S2000 motor would be a good choice as they are high revving, fairly high hp motors. But you are still better off ditching that car and going with something that came with a v8 if your intent is to make lots of power"

fas replied: "Look for a "K20" motor. That would be a sweet replacement."

cleanincubus replied: "No, putting in a 6 cylinder is not going to be do-able without a ton of modifications. It would be a lot of custom fabrication; cutting and welding. Custom motor mounts, custom shiftlinkage, cut and weld your firewall to fit the engine, custom axles for the right length, custom wiring harness; and that's all if the engine was FWD. Way too much $; when you could have a much faster car by swapping in a B18C1, build it, and turbocharge it."

hondab16tuner replied: "First off, stick to the front wheel drive 4 cylinders. If you try putting a FWD V-6 in this car you are looking at over $15,000 just in modifications, not including the motor. If you want power get a B16A, the motor that came in the 1999-2000 Civic SI. The parts from the SI bolt right into your chassis since its the same, plus with another $5,000 you can have a built and turboed 350 HP street car that still gets 28 MPG."

What is a fast and powerful tuner engine that will fit in a 1990 honda accord coupe? Price is not that much of an issue but keep it reasonable I don't race professionally. Really just looking for a good quality replacement that can be modified and turned into a hobby.

people are idiots replied: "H22."

peapicker67@sbcglobal.net replied: "A b16a should be more than enough for your car."

Adam replied: "check ebay for 1990 accord motor mounts. That will tell you which engines will fit. they probably make mounts for most honda motors. I would go with a B series over an H22"

Michael C replied: "Acura GSR"

Dc5 replied: "K20A3 perfect for the app and cheap out of wrecked newer hondas"

Marina R replied: "i would go with an H22 for your car. it is a fairly common swap into accords so there are plenty of parts to do it. you will need some Hasport engine mounts, and you can buy a complete swap with everything you need from"

thomas_mersereau replied: "Okay...into your 90 accord...the only way to go is h22a. The above me...don't know what the hell they are talking about. Putting a b series motor into an accord. Yeah its guys like those who give guys like me a bad name. Anyway, go h22a."

what is the biggest size a 2005 honda accord can fit? 20s or 22s? without modifying the body

Bardley M replied: "22, stupid. Everyone knows that."

cbrdgt replied: "20's, but you'll be putting stress on a lot of different parts, which then will need to be replaced. Put 18's on, they will ride a lot better than 19, 20 or 22" rims. I have 18" rims on my '03 Accord, and they look great and they don't really stick out! Good luck."

requiem_racing replied: "apparently not everyone know but they are 20" and like the other girl said its gonna be alot of stress on your half shaft and your drive shaft also on your transmission plus they will be very heavy so your gonna waste more gas because you need to give it more gas to get the car to move. but the 05 accord can get up to 20" with no mods 22" with mods and a really really low pro tire. i am really into honda and my team is nothing but hondas show and race. so i know what needs to be done to accords, civics, and integras to put the rims on then to swap them out for a race. its not to bad but if you dont want to mod the accord go with 20" just be ready to have to make some changes to the half shafts."

2002 Honda CRV QUESTION? modifying? i'm modifying my 02 CRV and i need to know where can i get a big jdm, oem or afermart funder that will fit my 2002 honda crv because i put a 20" rims on my CRV and its scrabing the funder when i seated three or two people on the rear seat. any help on website the offer a replacment funder. thank y'all

Lemar J replied: "The short answer...you can't. Nobody sells a CRV with 20's. You'll have to take it to a custom body shop and have it modified. or change the suspension. The largest wheel that is recommended without clearance issues is 19". I'd trade my wheels and tires in on something that won't scrub."
