Can the side effects of clomid resemble pregnancy symptoms? I have recently started clomid . I am now 8 dpo and I feel horrible. I am constantly nauseous with light cramping and lower back pain. My breasts are swollen and nipples extremely sensitive. I have other symptoms that make me believe I could be pregnant but I don't want to confuse these symptoms with the side effects of the clomid.

bex replied: "hi unfortunately the side effects are very similar to pms and pregnancy, i was convinced i was pregnant 1st cycle, however i got pregnant on 2nd cycle and i tested 10 dpo and got a faint positive on a first response test, so you could always do an early test to put your mind at rest, good luck x"

laura t replied: "i feel the same way i to am on clomid 100mg and have been sick my nipples are really sore and got back ache i'm convinced i'm pregnant but i have felt like this before with the tablets. does no symptoms of clomid increase pregnancy? I took Clomid 2 weeks ago and I had no side effects. This does mean that i tolerated the pill well but I'm wondering, does it actually mean that i have a more chance of getting pregnant after having good ovulation and sex?

Pregnant with Elijah!!!! replied: "With me I had no symptoms the first time I took clomid. I also got pregnant that cycle. I had a blighted ovum and had to have a d&c last June. The next cycle I took I had some symptoms, hot flashes headaches sore boobs. The next cycle my symptoms were a little stronger. I got pregnant that cycle but didnt know it. I took another cycle of clomid while being pregnant, the doc told me to because he said I was not pregnant, but I was! That caused a miscarriage in early September. My husband and I decided that we were going to give my body a rest for a bit and then try again in a few months. We were not really tring but not preventing either and I got pregnant with this little boy I am carrying on Oct. 4th! He is due in June!!!!! I hope this helps you Good luck and Baby Dust!"

samantha w replied: "On my first round of Clomid, i had No side effect either, but the second and third rounds, my Mood was awful!!!! I Would Cry and the get mad... And I got hot Flashes Like crazy for the first few days after I finished each round of them. But I wish You all the Best with the Clomid.. what are the early pregnancy symptoms when using clomid? to day is my period due but still i havent got it, i am on clomid from days 2to 6 .around days 13 to 18 i had severe headaches, and now everything is gone from yesterday i have a stomach upset, do any of u experience the same while on clomid and finally got pregnant. thanks in advance

How can you tell the difference between clomid or pregnancy symptoms? TMI? I have been having symptoms similar to pregnancy symptoms but this was also my first round of clomid. I took it on days 5-9 and had NO symptoms while taking it. It was only after ovulation that I started to have symptoms of pregnancy or the clomid. 1 DPO- Fatigue, mild dizzy spells, Light cramping (feels as if I’m about to start my cycle in a few days). Odd color in stool. Mild shooting pain through left breast. 2 DPO- Light cramping (like AF is about to start) 3 DPO- frequent Urination, fatigue, light cramping (like AF) CM 4 DPO- Fatigue, vivid dreams, bloating, light cramping (like AF) 5 DPO- Fatigue, bloating, light cramping (feels like AF is coming), headache! CM 6 DPO- Fatigue, bloating, light cramping (like AF) Feels like nipples might be getting sore, mild headache. CM 7 DPO- Fatigue, bloating, constipation, nipples still getting worse, moody in morning. 8 DPO- Fatigue, bloating, sore nipples, breasts are getting sore, Mild cramping (feels like AF is coming). Can someone help me understand whats type of symptoms these are? I looked up clomid symptoms but they didn't say if these symptoms stay past ovulation. I am too early to take an H.P.T. i am also taking 2000mg of metformin which i don't get symptoms from.

Pregnancy Symptoms/ taking clomid? I took a test yesterday and it came out negative. It was approx 5 days before my missed period. (First Response) We have been TTC for 8 months. Well for the last week I've had these symptoms, Bloody taste in my mouth (very unusual for me, never happened before), dry nose (I've never had allergies), gas, lower back cramps, breasts are sore and feel heavier. Are these pregnancy symptoms or could they be clomid symptoms? I've heard of all the symptoms except the bloody taste being symptoms of clomid.

Sick of TTC #1 (1st IUI 9/17/09) replied: "I did 4 cycles of clomid. Each time I had mild cramping after ovulation until I got my period. I also had extremely sore and swollen boobs about 1 dpo until af showed. Those are the only symptoms I had and it sounds like your symptoms could very well be caused by clomid and it may be too early to have any real pregnancy symptoms at this point. I would just wait and see if af shows when due and if not test again. I ovulated when I took clomid 50 mg but unfortunately never got pregnant and I am now in the tww after doing injections and an IUI. Good luck to you and I hope you get your wish!"

Sheila replied: "I have been taking clomid since May was on 50mg for 3 months and last month I started on 100mg as ultrasound of the follicles showed they were not big enough with the 50mg. Well the good news is I found out last week I'm pregnant so am currently 5 weeks, we had been trying 13 months with 4 months on clomid. I have mild pcos. I am in shock and cannot believe it but in response to your question every month I got sore breasts and cramps before a period and always hoped it was pregnancy but was always disappointed it wasn't. The funny thing is I found out a week ago I was pregnant so would only have been 4 weeks and I had woeful cramps in my lower back for 2 days but they were like a period pain but different, and this week my breasts have changed into what can only be described as firmer and fuller and slighly tingly and i have been getting up in the night to urinate sometimes twice so that is a definite first sign but apart from that i have had no other symptoms. Clomid made me urinate loads on the days I took the tablets so it is confusing! My advice to you is do another test in a few days and stay positive. Clomid is an amazing drug and I'll be forever grateful, even if I miscarry I'll know it'll work again! Best of luck to you XXXX"

Early pregnancy symptoms or clomid side effects? My doc had me on clomid CD 5-9 because I'm ttc. The first day I took the clomid I had severe nausea but that was the only side effect I had. I'm now 11dpo and I've had intermittant nausea for 3 days and my nipples have been hard since about 6dpo. I had a negative home pregnancy test this morning, but it could be too early to tell. Is it common to have clomid side effects start again later in the cycle or could these be early pregnancy symptoms? Update: It was clomid side effects.

chic replied: "When I was on chlomid I took it days 3-7 and had no side affects whatsoever. But low and behold day 8 I was ill, and this lasted for the entire week. That was the only side affects I had on my first cycle and I did not experience any nausea again for the other 4 I had. But I had different ones for each, mainly surrounding my nipple and boob area, they were sore some cycles not sore for others, some I had cramping in my abdomen and some I did not. I would say that this is more than likely to be side affects from the treatment rather than anything else. On my 5th cycle I started feeling very ill from the day I ovulated and this continued until I was 20 weeks pregnant. If you start feeling ill after ovulation there is a good possibility that this is a pregnancy symptom because there has been research done into the affects of chlomid and pregnancy and it has been found that those of us lucky ladies that get pregnant are not so lucky after all because we were extrememly ill for much longer than a natural pregnancy. As this is your first round there is no way of knowing how long your cycle is actually going to be until you get your period. After this your cycle will remain roughly the same amount of days in length. But because it is possible to get pregnant on your first cycle I advise that you wait until day 42 and if your period has not arrived do another test and see. If this says negative you should make an appointment to see your specialist. Im not sure what happens when you dont get pregnant and dont get a period because this has never happened to me and I would doubt that it will hapen to you but you never know. Early pregnancy symptoms or clomid? I have been on clomid for the last 3 months, and this is my first month with 100mg. For the last 4-5 days strange things have been happening, first I had sore swollen breasts with very tender nipples, now slight nausea (no vomiting), constant heartburn, headaches, and constipation. Some of these I know could be pregnancy symptoms, but today is only cycle day 25 and I was just wondering if it could be the clomid tricking my body. What do you think. I plan to test in a week. I didn't have a booster or trigger shot. I'm not sure why. My doctor is still in the trial and error stage with me I think. I am only his 2nd PCOS fertility patient. (SMALL TOWN)

Pregnancy Symptoms vs. Clomid Symptoms? Hey everyone. I have a question. This was my first month on clomid 50mg from days 5-9. Im now 7dpo and have been feeling "odd" since 4dpo. Now, my doctor did not do a progesterone test or ultra sound to see if there was a developed folicle, but I believe Im now 7dpo. About these "odd" symptoms. They include; The first I noticed was sore boobs. Not the boob itself but the nipple and around the aerola. The aerola also appears to be darker and have more bumps. Also, the second thing I noticed was Im EXHAUSTED. Not mentally, but physically. I actually have a hard time falling asleep because my mind is so awake. Also AF cramping, INSANE GAS, bloating EVERYTIME I eat, feeling like I have to poop more often ((sorry TMI)), thirsty and a back ache. Also, when I went to sit down on the toilet I had horriable gas like pain in my lower abdomen that went away in about 30 seconds. Any advice would be great. Oh and CM is not white, it is clear ((water like)) but still abundant. Thanks. Also, cervix is high and soft ((with a bluish purpleish tint)) and inner labia has a dark red fading to blue tint. ((sorry if TMI)) The complete question is, could this be from the clomid? I really don't think so, but I don't want to get my hopes up...

Fingerscrossed replied: "Clomid is renowned for for making your boobs tender and fuller. It also gives you terrible gas unfortunately, and bloated tummy too. Being on Clomid also made me feel terribly emotional too, like really bad PMT. So I really do feel for you. 4 days past ovulation may be a little too soon to notice first signs of pregnancy, but everyone is different. Try and hold out until your period is due, if it doesn't come on time then take a HPT. Good luck with conceiving :)"

Finshed 1st rd of clomid 2 weeks ago,is it normal for you to have pregnancy symptoms? I'm starting to cramp off and on,my breast are so tender and nipples are swollen.Bad acne etc,my cycle isn't due till the 5th,so I'm not even thinking pregnancy yet.I ovulate on my own,BUT my doctor put me on this due to me having only one tube from an ectopic.So do this drug cause you to have pregnancy symptoms?
