What are the side effects of taking testosterone supplements? Hey I've been trying to gain some weight so I've been going to the gym everyday. I work out hard and I come home sore. I take protein as well. But I'm not really seeing alotta results and a buddy of mine told me I could take a testosterone supplement or booster to help me out. What are the side effects of this and is it effective for the price?

Dwellen replied: "Look for products with androstenione or androsteniode (my spelling may be off). If you get ahold of these (available over the counter), look for voice deepening, muscle building, groin and sexual enhancement. If you were over 40, you could get a doc to prescribe Testim or Androgel which are topical applications and do work well."

John Z replied: "DO NOT USE THEM!"

what are the side effects of testosterone supplements on the skin? i think i see a pattern of damaged skin on those prescribed testosterone. anyone else have any more info on this?

James replied: "I haven't researched into to this real thoroughly, but I've heard that many of the side effects from testosterone supplementation is caused by taking artificial hormones. These inadvertently raise estrogen levels which cause side effects in and of itself, but also converts to DHT which promotes balding, acne, etc... Usually artificial forms of hormones are given for prescription since the pharmaceutical companies can patent these (to make $$$) and not natural hormones. So you would have to ask for "bio-identical" hormones to minimize side effects. Alternatively, the are less drastic nutritional means of naturally increasing testosterone (or may be used in tandem with hormonal therapy). Such as by getting lots of zinc, eating Maca root, etc... I've read a lot of Articles by Dr. Wong on this subject which seem on track. Such as at Look through the rest of his articles for related information."

Sawyer replied: "Side effects include: mild acne, headache, redness or irritation at the application site & breast tenderness or enlargement, frequent or persistent erections of the penis, nausea, vomitting, changes in skin color, or ankle swelling, breathing problems especially during sleep, weight gain, change in size or shape of testes, unusual tiredness, sadness or irritability, changes in the prostate gland such as difficulty urinating or pain in the groin area. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness or trouble breathing."

Post testosterone supplement side effects....? About to start a cycle of t-bomb2, this is my second cycle in a year, after i got off the first one i was really tired and lathargic probably due to the decreased testosterone after cycling off, anyone had this side effects with either t-bomb or other testosterone supplements (bodybuilding) and is there a product out there that deals with this? mature answers please...

qaRinG replied: "When you add a hormone to your body, that your body naturally produces, you inhibit your body's production of that hormone. So as you take your testosterone supplement, your body slows down it's natural production of testosterone. After you complete the cycle it takes your body a while to get back to the level of production it was at before. Not only that, but when your body isn't having to produce the amount of testosterone that it once did, it's manufacturing facilities (your testicles) can downsize. Exciting, huh!? Side effects of testosterone supplements include: premature heart attacks or strokes, increased sex drive, excess body hair, aggression, acne, reduced sperm count, impotence, breast development and shrunken testicles. Is it really worth it?"

tssfan214 replied: "Yes what you are experiencing is from the side effects of the reduced testosterone, unfortunately the only way to treat this is with more testosterone or to just wait it out and let your body attempt to work itself into a comfortable valence. You could treat the "side effects" as symptoms individually and treat them."

Help i think im experiencing some dietary supplements side effects? I have been having these random tremors and feeling a lot sleepier than usual also these headaches too.Because i took Formadrol extreme XL testosterone booster dietary supplement capsules. but i only took it once why am i experiencing the side effects? and how do i get rid of them?

Ridiculous replied: "Sounds like stimulant side effects.. check supplement ingredients. I am really sensitive to stimulants too. Messes me up for days. Don't take any for a week or so..even coffee."

pitchingcoach replied: "First of all you stop taking these. If your symptoms don't improve soon you call your doctor or go to the emergency room."

Anyone else here used testosterone booster supplements for body building purposes any side effects? I am a 21 year old male. Im in good shape and healthy. recently i purchased instone forza -T testosterone booster. I used it for 4 days and i started having a weird feeling in my heart. Sort of small poking. Anyone else expeirnced anything like this? the only side effects that i read about were acne and hair loss but nothing about your heart. Its a natural testostorone booster not steroids,

A&F & HCO Boi replied: "You are taking steroids, which contain the male hormone testosterone. I am afraid to say that loosing hair and acne are extremely minor to what steroids can do to the male's body. These steroids without a doctors consent or reccomendation can be damaging, they can cause breast growth, shrinking testacles/shrinking penis, weight gain/weight loss, bloodstream complications, and muscle loss, since you have been using this drug and feeling chest pain, I suggest you either see a doctor immediatley, or if the pain becomes alot worse then check into the emergency room."

Mr.Longrove replied: "You're better off leaving that stuff alone. Please tell me this - Why on earth would a healthy 21 year old male need a testosterone booster anyway???"

Brad M replied: "Hey mate, well i need you to be more specific..is it a natural T-booster or an actual steroid your using? and if steroid are you taking it orally or injecting? And what type? Tell me this and ill tell whats going on."

I'm considering taking the supplement 17HD the testosterone what are the side effects if any? I have read what the possible side effects are online. However I'd like to know first hand from someone who has actually used the product what side effects they have experienced? Only answer this question if you have personally used 17HD.

Nicholas B replied: "pimples liver damage high blood pressure rage loss of hair testical shrinkage Pretty much the same as steroids but slower side affects and legal. Sorry i have not used this but i found a great form from a user who's a bodybuilder. It apperntlys work's well in ganing muscle and bulking you up heaps. =&tbnid=3pDL4b7hNg2cnM:&tbnh=89&tbnw=118&prev=/images%3Fq%3D17HD%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26safe%3Doff%26sa%3DN"

Jack N replied: "Supplements are not regulated by the FDA and these companies that sell them can say anything they want about them and they mostly lie through their as-es. They are mostly snake oil so don't waste your money. I have taken real testosterone prescribed by a MD and even the real thing doesn't do that much for building muscle or strength. It mostly only helps when your body is low on it's natural testosterone. But it sure makes you horny! :)"

I need information on testosterone effects on muscle growth? What exactly do testosterone supplements, like those you can buy at any nutritional and/or supplement store, do to the effect of muscle growth? And what are the side effects of taking them, both good and bad??

Little charles replied: "well the testosterone is a male hormone, the testosterone help us to have more muscular mass and if you want to growth your muscle you don t need testosterone you need protein because the body produce his testosterone in the testicle for more muscular mass you have to go to the gym and protein supplement. don t use testosterone is dangerus for your health"

Side effects of a testosterone booster ? I want to take a natural testosterone booster or an HGH supplement (not actual HGH) what are some possible side effect that could occur. Also what are the best supplements?

Bananas replied: "acne rage"

Matthew W replied: "Hair loss, atop your head, shrunken testicles, increase of aggression are some of the possible side effects. It's not really known to cause prostate cancer but it may enhance it if you already have the PSA markers."

Austin B replied: "Your head will shrink."

krieger replied: "Loss of money. There is no such thing as a 'natural' testosterone (or HGH) booster you can get over the counter. Short of actual prescription medication (presumably obtained illegally), it won't do jack all. And if you do go for the prescription variety you start packing on the side effects like candy. Hair loss, shrunken testicles (possible sterility), mood swings ('roid rage'), common severe acne (see link), and the development of breasts in males all are possible side effects, among others. Not to mention the fact that HGH has NOT been proved to improve physical performance in a healthy adult."

testosterone supplements? will testosterone supplements shrink me penis? Im 18 wondering if it will. Ive also heard stories that it could enlarge it.. what are the real side effects of testosterone supplements for young adults?

KissTheRain replied: "I doubt it."

headbuster3850138501 replied: "no it wont, although i head it will make your nutz shrink , but i havent seen that happen. but testosterone is mostly for older people [30's] who need it when they work out because the older you get after about age 21 the less testosterone you have. testosterone build muscle, but right now your young, so your full of it already and the only thing the supplement will do for you is make you mean, and have mood swings. itll make you mad all the time and have a bad temper. i know because i used to take it and i find taking creatine, and a protein shake [ like nitrotech] helps alot better to build muscle anyway."

Side effects of testosterone? Basically me and my friend are having an argument. I take testosterone tablets at the gym. Normally when you take testosterone you get harsh side effects such as spots, acne, hair loss etc. I take very expensive tablets (£50 for 30 days instead of £10 for a month of the cheep stuff) which boast they have no side effects and still increases your testosterone naturally. This is because it's a herbal remedy, the product I use it the 3rd best seller in gym supplements in the world. Now...Taking testosterone changes your personality etc, all are reasons you take it, you get a higher sex drive a higher drive to get big meaning you will do a better work out and it makes you feel more pumped after the gym. These are all reasons for taking it. He's trying to say although it doesn't give you spots, acne, hair loss etc it still has side effects. He says the side effects are the changes to your personality. I say no, that's an effect of taking the tablets seeing as that's what I take them for (that's the primary effect). It has no side effect (secondary effect). His argument was that because increased testosterone can regulate the flight or flight response that makes it a side effect (he just chose a random effect from wikipedia). I say no, that's a primary effect of taking it, it's all a change to my personality which is the reason I take it. (changing your fight or flight isn't even a bad thing) Thanks is you answer this btw.

Alissa replied: "It kills your immune system and makes you more aggressive. That would be the 'personality changing' part."

john p replied: "Where are your testosterone levels at? Why you are ingesting exogenous testosterone.Your balls will shut down its own production of testosterone if you continue doing this.In TRT they use HCG with testosterone so that balls keep working,Do more research before using test."

Barcode replied: "Testosteronesideeffects: Testosterone prescriptions are most commonly written by doctors for men with testosterone deficiencies caused by andropause or other conditions. Testosterone is a hormone produced by the body and deficiencies cause symptoms such as decreased sex drive, fatigue and moodiness. These symptoms can be caused by other conditions and even when testing shows that testosterone levels are lower than normal, testosterone supplementation does not always alleviate the symptoms and may inhibit the body’s natural ability to produce testosterone. This is just one known side effect. Testosterone produced by the body causes muscles to grow and strength to increase. At one time, testosterone prescriptions were written commonly for many conditions. It was praised as a miracle drug. Weight lifters, body-builders and other professional athletes used testosterone and other anabolic steroids for years to enhance their ability and performance. When testosterone side effects became known doctors stopped prescribing it except in cases where the body’s ability to produce testosterone had been damaged by injury or disease and athletes could only obtain it illegally. Now, once again, a growing number of testosterone prescriptions are being written. Drug companies seeking FDA approval, use test groups to study the effectiveness and common side effects of drugs. In 19% of the patients in the original group for one of the testosterone gels, a prostrate disorder was reported and one developed prostrate cancer. Other testosterone side effects reported include acne, hair loss, depression, moodiness, swelling in the arms and legs, gynecomastia (breast growth in males), breast pain, high blood pressure, decreased libido and nervousness. Gynecomastia is said to occur frequently. The companies who make prescription testosterone warn that prolonged use can cause liver damage and cancer. They advise that some patients may develop sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is when a person stops breathing during sleep. They further advise doctors to continuously monitor patient’s testosterone levels, prostrate size and perform other follow-up tests. They advise patients to inform their doctors if they experience any of the listed testosterone side effects. Testosterone prescriptions and testosterone side effects is the subject of some debate among health care professionals and scientists, with the supporters maintaining that the positive effects outweigh the risks and the critics saying that there are other less hazardous options."

SuperVibrationalEscrow replied: "The herbal testosterone enhancers do practically nothing to increase your testosterone. Taking testosterone does NOT negatively impact your personality. Taking other androgenic steroids are the cause of roid rage, not testosterone. I have taken real testosterone for many years, over ten years. Not herbal supplements but the actual injectable T which was prescribed for me by a physician. I am a very mellow guy. My serum T level is on the high end of normal and there are no personality things going on, fight or flight, anger.. any of that nonsense. There are huge misunderstandings about testosterone because people aren't educated in the different kinds of androgenic steroids. So you guys are arguing about nothing. If you go to an endrocrinologist right now and get your T level checked.. it will be normal. There are no herbal supplements that actually do much at all to raise your testosterone production. Sorry. Real testosterone pills are almost never used any more because they totally fry the liver, and it doesn't take long. The pills you are taking are probably fairly safe, but not knowing what is in them, hard to say what it might be doing to your kidneys or liver. What I know for a certainty is even if it promotes a certain amount of testosterone increase, it isn't much. The reason is that when the body produces over a certain level of testosterone it begins to aromatize to estrogen and then you get gynecomastia and a bunch of other issues. Including polycythemia which can clot up your blood. I included a link about aromatization of testosterone into estrogen in case you think I am making up something. Anyway, no need for you and your friend to argue. Herbal supps are not testosterone and so you don't have to worry about any of it. Have a Dr. check your testosterone level and you will see what I say is right."

Angelina replied: "Very bad effect on your health.it's a slow poison.do not take it."

David replied: "I think you are both way off the rails here. The reason you are not getting any side effects from your expensive herbal tablets is simply that they are hardly increasing your testosterone level at all. You are wasting your money there. Most body builders take testosterone by injecting it, usually in the enanthate or cypionate form. This allows a gradual release over several days, so that twice weekly injections are sufficient. Because testosterone occurs naturally, the body is far more tolerant to it than to most anabolic steroids, and bodybuilders often inject 1000mg or even 2000mg per week. It is also considerably cheaper than most anabolic steroids, and usually just as effective unless you're going for broke in the elite class. However, it will always have side effects, just like any other anabolic steroid will. In the case of testosterone, these are: - Aromatisation into estrogen. This can cause gyno (= man boobs). The remedy is tamoxifen (= nolvadex) or anastrozole (= arimidex). The latter is expensive but highly effective. - Shrunken balls. This is because they are no longer producing your natural testosterone. The remedy is HCG (= human chorionic gonadotrophin), which stimulates the balls to resume producing their natural testosterone (which is of course in addition to that injected). - Hair loss, if susceptible to male pattern baldness. This is due to some of the testosterone becoming converted into dihydrotestosterone, or DHT. The remedy is finasteride tablets (= fincar or proscar). It's also possible to add loniten (= minoxidil) tablets with a diuretic such as furosemide. You need to be careful with this. So do some research, and make sure you're spending your money on the right stuff! The golden rule is "don't take anything until you have researched it". Hope that helps."

Vande Mataram replied: "I know for a fact that it makes guys more aggressive. My younger bro has really started to get into bodybuilding and his testosterone levels have skyrocketted along with the size of hs muscles. Believe me there are times when I am shit scared of him, all he has to do is to raise his voice slightly and I will walk away."
